And Now, Something Really Funny

My apologies to Willie Nelson, and my heartfelt thanks to my dear friend, Marnie, who is one of the smartest and funniest people I have ever known. She sent me these new lyrics to my tumor theme song, "You Were Always On My Mind":

Don't know how long you've been here,
Growing slowly, at your leisure.
I didn't know you were up there,
'Til you made me have a seizure.
Then I had to have a surgery.
And I thought I might go blind,
Cause you were always on my mind
You were always on my mind.

You tried to take my life from me.
Thought I couldn't deal with cancer.
But I'm still Mom in my family;
I'm still a singer; still a dancer.
And I've got a lot more to do.
And I'll do it, you will find.
Even with you on my mind.
Even with you on my mind.

Now I'm planning to kill you
With these chemo pills I take.
Hoping whatever's left of you
The radiation waves will bake.
Between me and my doctors
We are spending lots of time
Trying to get you off my mind,
I don't want you on my mind.

Tell me, tell me that your cancer cells are dead;
Give me, give me one more chance to have a healthy head.

All the things I should have said and done
And I'm going to have the time
Once I get you off my mind
I'm going to get you off my mind.

lol! The song is priceless.

I haven't said anyting before but I'm going to say it now. I just found your blog last week and I love it. It's the most enjoyable, uplifting, insightful, spiritual blog I've found. You and your family are in my prayers at night.

I'm new to your blog in the last week, as well. Your faith is uplifting.

This song is even funnier if you sing it to the Pet Shop Boys version and dance around the living room.

Just found your blob while searching for positive stories for my freind who was recently diagnosed with gbm and will be beginning her own "radiation/chemo/clinical trial" journey next Monday. Always looking for ways to help, encourage, be there. Your entries are wonderful and filled with hope. Keep going Krista.......DB

Thank you for the compliment, Krista. I could certainly say the same about you (and have said it, actually).

As for the song, I fully expect to see it on the Longflicks Greatest Hits Album.

Love Always . . .
